The eighth Sauna Fest runs Oct. 5 to 25 with more than 800 shows, all included in the day pass. Its Sauna Village grows to 10 days and 10 exhibitors, Harvia and Saunum among them.

SaunaShare, Inc., the company behind SaunaShare.com and SaunaMarketplace.com, has bought SaunaNews.com. The trade site covers the business of sauna, which had no trade press of its own in English, and SaunaShare, Inc. plans to grow it.

Sauna for All’s Public Sauna-Bathing Charter sets ten principles for how public saunas are priced, run and funded, and Sauna for All founder Becky Pelkonen speaks at the International Sauna Congress on Saturday. It isn’t a certification. Twenty-seven have signed so far, and one is a US operator.
CPSC published both notices on September 17. The infrared recall covers 13 years of Finnleo, Tylö, Helo, Saunatec and Radiant Health rooms sold through Costco and pool and spa dealers. The bench recall is back at six times the size, and the agency says the first repair did not work.

Two papers from one Swedish questionnaire split sauna’s perceived benefits by sex at 588 people: women rank mental recovery first, men rank company first, and only the women report better sleep and less bodily pain afterward. For operators the findings land on the schedule: quiet blocks, a phone rule at the door, löyly etiquette on the wall, and a women-only hour worth testing for a quarter.

CBP’s Section 338 list doesn’t include 9406.10, the code for a prefabricated wooden building. It does include 4409.10.90, where CBP put the tongue-and-groove cedar in a Canadian sauna kit in 2012. The line isn’t assembled versus flat-packed, and four CBP rulings say exactly where it falls.

KUSATEK, the gas-fired commercial line from Harvia-owned EOS Saunatechnik, is coming to America: a 120 kW and a 60 kW system for the 800-plus-square-foot event sauna Bathhouse is building inside Philadelphia’s 1904 Bellevue building. Every install on KUSATEK’s public project list is European, the published spec sheets are too, and the missing US listing is the detail operators should watch.

Harvia’s North American surge came with a warning label: cabins grew 44%, steam fell 13.8%, and a three-week factory shutdown pushed about EUR 4 million of high-margin heater deliveries into the back half. The investor call made clear which parts are timing, which are mix, and where Harvia wants to buy next.

Christer Lybäck’s 3,300-pound Tulikivi burns down in the open air, then rolls into a brick-lined bay on rails, so ten people bathe in a smoke sauna that has never had a fire inside it. Outside-feed stoves already sold in the US move the loading door out of the hot room. This moves the whole fire out of the building, and takes the soot that keeps savusauna from working as a paid amenity with it.

Finland’s summer factory shutdown is written into statute, not tradition. What it costs American resellers is a warranty call they cannot close for three weeks.

Wisauna, which builds by hand near Eau Claire, lists builds from $12,000 and an average commission around $24,000. It also puts an R-value on the wall, which is the number that actually explains the price.
Management guided EUR 3 to 5 million of deliveries out of Q2 and into Q3 for a plant changeover in Muurame. Q2 sits inside Thursday’s half-year report and Q3 does not, so H1 carries the cost and none of the catch-up. Three things we will be reading for, and the two that reach dealers.

Tents and trailer saunas on a river beach in Koria, seven hours, 20 euros, and no building at all. The same volunteer club does it again in March on a frozen lake. The structure underneath is the part US operators should be looking at.

A heritage Finnish heater brand, an unusual industrial parent, and a patient push toward America, just as US certification rules have started to favor European designs.

Independent durability testing by Saunologia’s Lassi Liikkanen shows ceramic sauna stones lasting close to four times longer than natural alternatives. Liikkanen writes that manufacturer bans on ceramic stones are not justified by his data. Harvia’s manuals ban ceramic stones; IKI’s ban all but Kerkes.

The company signed a cooperation agreement with the University of Jyväskylä, JAMK University of Applied Sciences, and Gradia on the opening day of the World Sauna Forum. The focus areas map directly to Harvia’s connected-sauna product pipeline.

One group of friends in southern Estonia invented the sauna marathon in 2007. Eighteen years, two Guinness World Records, and at least five events later, the orienteering-style format is now a continental phenomenon that draws thousands and showcases mobile sauna culture.

The premium sauna lineup launching under Harvia’s 2024-acquired American steam brand is built in Sastamala, Finland by Kirami, the wood-fired hot-tub maker Harvia bought in 2021. The same cabins ship as FinVision® in Europe.
A trade attorney’s white paper on operator certification landed on Sauna from Finland’s news channel on May 12. It arrives as Europe’s first room-construction standard and the first modern US heater-safety standard both take effect. The hardware is getting infrastructure. The operators are still on their own.

The Estonian cabin maker is folding Duetto, a Finnish infrared specialist, into its product range. The 900-watt wall-mounted panels can be factory-configured on new Mira, Libera, and Aera saunas or retrofitted to any existing Auroom cabin, turning a traditional room into a dual-mode setup.

Portal° Thermaculture went from a Boulder brewery pop-up to four metros, with Austin on the way, in under two and a half years, surviving a fire and building without disclosed investors. The founder-funded playbook, from horse trailers to marine-mammal chillers, is a clear counterpoint to Bathhouse’s institutional-capital model.

Alisa Cardenas runs Howl at the Moon Sauna Co. out of a converted 1989 horse trailer in West Michigan, and this November she is taking ten guests to a lakefront lodge in southern Iceland for seven days of lagoons, wild bathing, and a Reykjavík sauna ritual called gúsa. It is the kind of trip more sauna businesses with a community ought to be thinking about.

The Estonian manufacturer’s marketing materials now cite distribution to more than 45 countries, up from 35-plus earlier this year. A new partner called Suuda Sauna is selling the full Leil catalog to Italy and Spain, with base pricing from €6,800.

The Finnish soapstone company ended its Russian subsidiary on April 1, clearing the condition Dr. Lassi Liikkanen attached to a 2026 editorial partnership. Combined with UL safety certification tests on the Kevo electric heater for North American launch, Tulikivi is pursuing a US safety listing and a Finnish editorial partnership in the same year.
