Ritual Heat's Level 1 sauna master training runs January 14 to 16, 2027, at Alchemy Springs in San Francisco. The company calls it an aufguss certification, and its trainers include US sauna masters Nate Daubert and Alycia Wong. Students finish recorded lectures and worksheets online before the in-person days.

The course covers classic and modern aufguss, towel-waving technique, essential oils, safe use of water and ice, and contraindications. Ritual Heat says the curriculum was developed with European aufguss and sauna schools, which it doesn't name, and bills its optional textbook as a translation of the Deutsche Sauna-Akademie curriculum.

Event details: January 14 to 16, 2027. Alchemy Springs, 939 Post St., San Francisco. $1,795.
