The cylindrical tower electric heater that made Harvia famous
A tall column of stones inside a stainless steel lattice. Up to 265 lbs of stone mass, soft löyly that rivals a wood-fired sauna, and the visual signature competitors keep copying.
The electric Cilindro is the product that defined modern premium electric sauna heating. The cylindrical tower format holds 180 to 265 pounds of stones in an open stainless lattice, exposing more stone surface to the room than any comparably sized heater. In real use, that translates to steam character much closer to a wood-fired sauna than to a conventional wall heater. The Cilindro has been Harvia's flagship residential electric heater for over a decade and is specified across North American residential, high-end specialty, and commercial installations. The PC66E "Half" variant mounts flush against a wall; the PC100 and PC110 scale to 208V three-phase commercial service.

Cilindro löyly depends on how the stones are stacked. Tight stacking at the bottom keeps heat close to the elements; looser stacking higher in the column lets steam travel out when water is thrown on. Follow Harvia's installation manual for stone placement; a common cause of weak löyly is over-packing the top of the stone cage.
The PC100 and PC110 are ordered with element sets matched to the electrical service they will run on. A 240V-spec heater wired into a 208V panel runs below its rated output and will not reach target temperature efficiently. Confirm whether your installation is 240V single-phase (typical residential) or 208V three-phase (common commercial) before ordering.
Harvia specifies washed olivine-diabase stones in a 2-4 inch (5-10 cm) size range for Cilindro. Garden-center decorative rocks pack too tight, hide dust that can ignite on exposed elements, and can crack under the thermal cycling a sauna heater imposes. Use the specified sauna stones and wash them before first firing.
Rooms 318-670 cu ft, glass-front builds where the stone column is part of the design, and commercial sites that need 208V three-phase. Skip for rooms under 210 cu ft — at that size you're paying for stone mass you'll never use.
