Tehtaan Saunafest 2026
The organizers have not announced the next date. First Tampere edition in 2026, part of the Saunakeisarit summer circuit. Recurrence not yet established. Details below are from the 2026 edition. We update this page when the next one is dated.
A first-edition sauna festival on a factory square in Tampere, running twelve hours on a Saturday. Worth watching precisely because it is a VOL 1 in a city of a quarter of a million.

Tehtaan Saunafest runs its first edition on Saturday 1 August 2026, 11:00 to 23:00, on Tehdasaukio in Hiedanranta, Tampere. The organiser is Saunakeisarit, working with Tehtaan Terassi, and the listing on Finland’s national sauna calendar Saunarinki describes it plainly: Saunakeisarit is putting on Tampere’s hottest sauna festival on the factory square at Hiedanranta.
Why an Operator Should Care
The “VOL 1” is the story. Most of the Finnish August calendar is made of events in their twentieth or twenty-fifth year, run by associations in villages. This is a new one, in Finland’s second-largest urban region, on a regeneration site: Hiedanranta is a former pulp mill area that Tampere has been converting into a mixed-use district for the better part of a decade.
That combination, a disused industrial site plus a twelve-hour public sauna event plus a bar operator as co-host, is the same play being run on American waterfronts and rail yards right now. The difference is that the Finnish version does not have to solve for water code, because the saunas arrive on trailers and the lake is the plunge. Watch whether it returns as VOL 2, because a first edition that repeats is the signal that the format has demand behind it rather than novelty.
