The Sarvenperän Saunamaraton near Kuohu in the Jyväskylä region takes a different approach to the sauna marathon format: a roughly six-mile walking route through 13 to 15 saunas, including shoreline saunas, tent saunas, and mobile saunas. Some may be smart saunas.
The event is explicitly non-competitive. Participants form groups and move at their own pace. Meals are included (breakfast, soup lunch, and a salad dinner), and all finishers receive a certificate of completion. A first-aid team is on standby throughout the day.
The organizers describe it as "an experiential sauna marathon in beautiful lakefront scenery that combines sauna, exercise, and togetherness." It is designed for first-timers.
