Lohjan Saunafest runs on Saturday 8 August 2026 at Aurlahden rantakenttä, the beach field at Aurlahti in Lohja, about 40 miles west of Helsinki on Lake Lohjanjärvi. The Saunarinki listing describes the format as portable saunas, live music, a grill and a cheerful atmosphere, with a limited number of caravan parking spaces on site.
Caravan spaces make it a weekend
The site is a municipal beach field, a fleet of towed saunas, a stage, a grill, and a lake doing the cooling. Add caravan spaces and the site becomes an overnight destination without anyone building accommodation.
The marginal cost of letting people sleep in the parking lot is close to zero, and it converts a day event into a weekend one, which is what changes the revenue per attendee. In the US, the constraint is permitting: most towns have never been asked about overnight parking on a municipal beach lot.
