Here are four stories that mattered to the sauna trade this week.
1. Harvia posts record Q1 revenue
Harvia reported Q1 2025 revenue of EUR 52 million, up 22.7% year-over-year. The ThermaSol steam technology acquisition (closed July 2024) added to sales, but most of the growth was organic: 14.1%. See the full earnings timeline and stock chart in our Harvia News hub.
2. US tariff pressure on European sauna imports
The 10% baseline US tariff on EU goods is raising costs on Finnish and Baltic sauna products entering the US market, and a pending Section 232 investigation into timber and lumber imports adds uncertainty. Distributors are recalculating pricing models as duties increase landed costs across heaters, controls, and thermally modified wood.
3. Outdoor sauna demand keeps climbing
Backyards across North America increasingly feature outdoor saunas, from barrel saunas to cabin saunas and custom outdoor builds, according to Harvia, whose Almost Heaven brand sells outdoor barrel saunas in the US.
4. HUUM standardizes air tunnel across HIVE line
Estonian manufacturer HUUM has made its internal air tunnel a standard feature across all HIVE models, an engineering upgrade that HUUM says cuts heat-up time by 25% and prolongs the life of the heating elements.
