Thermory’s US company wrote up the online sauna store’s visit to its first partner summit and its Reola plant in Estonia, and the Thermory wood its founders use at home.

Thermory USA featured Sauna Marketplace in a Sauna Partner Spotlight on its blog on October 7, and again in The Logbook, its LinkedIn newsletter. Ben Burger and Ben Frizzell founded the online sauna store, which shares an owner with SaunaNews.
The spotlight starts in Estonia, where Thermory held its first Partner Alliance Summit in Tallinn from September 2 to 4, with sauna and industry partners from 23 countries. The Sauna Marketplace team toured Thermory’s plants, including Reola, its sauna-materials plant in Estonia’s Tartu County.
“What we keep talking about is Reola,” Burger told Thermory USA. “Every board goes through an X-ray and 3D scanner that checks moisture and curvature before it gets profiled. Not a sample, but every board.” He put the plant’s output at about 2.6 million linear feet of profiled boards a month, roughly 3,000 saunas’ worth.
Both founders build with the wood at home. Frizzell owns the first Thermory Sauna Square sent to North America, which sits at his home in Bend, Oregon. Burger chose Thermory’s Kodiak Spruce cladding for his house in the country.
On where sauna is headed, Burger said, “The next big thing in sauna is more people in the room. The backyard version could be: build the bench for four, even if it’s usually for two.”
Disclosure: SaunaNews is owned by SaunaShare, Inc., which also operates SaunaMarketplace.com. Sauna Marketplace sells Thermory sauna wood in the US.
