Sauna Jungle is aiming to open its first location, on Wilson Boulevard in Arlington, Virginia, on December 15, co-founder Steven Hu told SaunaNews. Interior finishes are about to start, and the company is flying its sauna builder in from Minneapolis to build the venue’s two Finnish saunas on site.
Both jobs come near the end of the build-out. Hu said the team hopes to pass final inspections before Thanksgiving.

Two hot rooms built for löyly
The company’s October 7 announcement describes each sauna with high benches, mechanical ventilation and about 600 pounds of stones, with water thrown on the stones for löyly.
“We’re not trying to build another spa,” Hu said in the announcement. “We want to create an exceptional Finnish sauna experience centered around great heat, real löyly, cold water, and community.”
Hu and co-founder Kira, both Arlington residents, expect most visits to last 45 to 75 minutes, a shorter stop than the one-to-two-hour visits Grotto Baths plans in Miami. The release says more than 3,500 people have joined the pre-opening waitlist.
Founding members first
Sauna Jungle plans to sell founding memberships in November, and Hu said the company hopes to hold a soft open for those members before the grand opening. The announcement priced a limited Founding Unlimited Membership at $130 a month, alongside single visits and multi-visit packs that have not been priced publicly. Unlimited access is a different bet from the capped bookings some social saunas use to protect their busiest hours.
The company is already looking at Washington, DC neighborhoods for a second location, with a goal of opening it in winter 2027. Updates are posted at saunajungle.com.
