Heilthermen Resort Bad Waltersdorf in Austria has opened a 60-seat Quell-Sauna and extended its minimum age of 14 to the public thermal baths. The changes took effect October 1, with an opening event for the sauna held October 1–2.
The resort says it invested €1 million, about $1.12 million, in the sauna expansion and renovation. That expenditure covers the new Quell-Sauna and the renewed Steirer-Sauna, according to its October 6 announcement.
A forest view for 60 bathers
The resort’s sauna page lists the Quell-Sauna at approximately 176–185°F. A large panoramic window looks into the surrounding greenery. The Steirer-Sauna received new wood and an updated interior.
The resort now counts 16 saunas across its public baths and hotel facilities. Ten are in the public Heiltherme; six belong to the Hoteltherme for hotel guests, according to La Revue des Hôtels.
The sauna team developed its new aufguss program with practitioner Gerald Gärtner. The resort describes sessions using herbs, hydrosols and selected oils, with measured water dosing and gentle towel movements to distribute heat and fragrance. Sauna master Michi Zinggl is among the team leading the sessions.
A minimum age of 14, including the baths
The hotel and its private thermal facilities already followed the age policy. From October 1, the public Heiltherme joined them. The resort markets the change as an adults-only offering, but guests aged 14 and older remain welcome.
La Revue des Hôtels reported weekday day admission of €42, about $47, plus a €12 sauna supplement, about $13. That puts a weekday visit including sauna access at €54, about $60, using the ECB’s October 12 reference rate. The quoted admission prices were recorded October 3.
The opening adds another large guided-session room to the European sauna circuit. Related coverage includes this month’s Modern Classic Cup results and botanical sauna programming at Therme Bucharest.
