Heating elements divided into two groups, 154 to 309 lbs of stones, 10.5-22 kW. Harvia builds it for heavy-duty use in spas, hotels, and apartment buildings.
The Virta Pro is Harvia's heavy-duty electric heater for commercial saunas. Its defining spec is the element layout: Harvia divides the heating elements into two groups, so a fault in one group does not have to take the sauna fully offline. The 16 to 22 kW models are rated by Harvia for rooms of roughly 565 to 1,130 cubic feet, the size of many hotel spa, apartment amenity, and gym saunas. Harvia lists it for professional users, though residential buyers sometimes specify it for oversized rooms. Needs an external control unit: Xenio CX45 for the HL110-HL160; the HL200 and HL220 need a CX170 or Fenix FX170 plus Harvia's LTY17 power extension unit, because Harvia rates both controllers at 17 kW on their own.
Hotel spas, fitness center saunas, apartment amenity rooms, multi-unit condos, and very large residential builds over 900 cu ft. Operations running 8+ hours a day where element redundancy matters. Anyone with 208V three-phase service on the electrical panel.

N.01
Commercial specifiers sometimes default to the highest kW Virta Pro option. HL160 at 16 kW is typically more than enough for hotel rooms under 900 cubic feet. Stepping up to HL200 or HL220 adds meaningful operating cost without proportional performance gain in rooms that size. Measure the actual room and match the heater accordingly.
N.02
Virta Pro needs an external control unit. Xenio CX45 is rated up to 17 kW, appropriate for HL110 through HL160. The larger HL200 and HL220 need a CX170 or Fenix FX170 plus Harvia's LTY17 power extension unit, since Harvia rates both controllers at 17 kW on their own (34 kW with the extension). Undersizing the controller relative to the heater nameplate is a common commercial install error; confirm amperage ratings on both the heater and the controller before ordering.
N.03
Virta Pro's elements are split into two independent circuits. If one group fails, the heater continues operating on the remaining group rather than going fully offline. For commercial operators running daily amenity saunas, this reduces the operational impact of a mid-service element failure.
