SaunaNewsAbout
SaunaNews reports the business and culture of sauna: what launched, what opened, who bought whom, what a standard changed, and what the research found.
Sauna now shows up in hotel plans, city budgets, building codes, factory expansions, and a lot of backyards. SaunaNews follows the people and companies behind all of it: the makers of heaters, cabins, controls, and wood; the bathhouses, hotels, spas, gyms, and clubs that run hot rooms; the rules and trade policy that decide what gets built and what it costs; and the studies on what regular bathing does for people.
We also keep a calendar of sauna events worldwide, from Aufguss competitions to trade shows, and profiles of the companies we cover , with each fact linked to its source.
SaunaNews is written for the people who make, sell, build, run, and use saunas, and for the people who invest in them:
Every story starts with what changed: who did what, where, and when.
Figures, quotes, specs, research findings, and health claims carry their source, linked at the claim when a public link exists.
Temperatures in °F, sizes in feet and inches, weights in pounds.
If a company hasn't disclosed a price, a date, or a test result, the story says that.
Analysis and opinion are labeled, and kept apart from the facts they rest on. A company's claims are reported as that company's claims. When a spec comes from a metric source, the original figure may follow in parentheses, and when a detail is missing, the story leaves it blank rather than guessing.
If we get something wrong, we fix it and note what changed. Send the link and the claim to corrections@saunanews.com.
SaunaShare, Inc. runs four sites, one job each: SaunaShare, for finding real saunas to visit and stay at; Sauna Marketplace, for buying saunas, heaters, and wood; SaunaDesignPro, for planning a sauna room in 2D and 3D; and SaunaNews, for the news.
What the family shares is a belief that better sauna starts with good information. SaunaNews's part is to make that information easy to find, easy to read, and easy to check, for everyone in the trade and everyone who loves a good sauna.

Reporting on the business and culture of sauna.
SaunaNews is published by SaunaShare, Inc. The same company runs SaunaShare.com, a guide to places to sauna, and SaunaMarketplace.com, a store that sells saunas, heaters and sauna wood. Many of the products we write about are for sale there.
That is where most of what we know comes from. We size heaters to real rooms, sort out the freight, hear from owners years after the install, and have stood on factory floors in Estonia. Very little of that shows up in a press release.
It also means we are not neutral, and we won't pretend to be. Assume our experience running SaunaShare.com and SaunaMarketplace.com shapes what we cover and what we don't.
Paid placements are labeled Sponsor.
The SAUNA wordmark is shared across the SaunaShare family. Its U is a sauna ladle (kauha in Finnish, kulp in Estonian), the tool that throws water on the hot stones to make löyly, the wave of heat and steam that follows.
These are the rules SaunaNews works by. The editorial standards page has the longer version.
SaunaNews does not accept gifts, paid travel, or speaking fees from companies it covers without saying so in the relevant story.
Advertisers and sponsors do not review, approve, or influence reporting before publication. Sponsored content is labeled as sponsored and set apart from reporting; the sponsored content policy has the details.
We prefer named, on-the-record sources. We use an unnamed source only when the information is in the public interest, the source has direct knowledge of it, the source would face real professional or legal consequences for speaking on the record, and at least one other source or document backs it up.
We check figures, including company financials, market sizing, and research findings, against primary sources before publication. When the data has limits, such as a small sample, a narrow method, or a conflict of interest, the story says so.
If you spot an error, send the story link, the claim in question, and any supporting documents to corrections@saunanews.com.
When a correction changes a fact, we update the story and add a note at the bottom that says what changed and when. Typo fixes, broken links, and formatting changes don't get a public note.
Sauna is a global industry with deep roots in Finland, Estonia, Russia, Japan, Turkey, and beyond. We look for sources and perspectives across countries, genders, and career stages, and we don't treat any single national tradition as the default way to understand sauna.
We cover companies and operators of every size, from family-run workshops to publicly traded manufacturers.
