SaunaLife Introduces Modular Backyard Sauna with Two-Hour Assembly
The California-based brand targets first-time buyers with a flat-pack sauna designed for tool-free, same-day installation.
SaunaLife, the California-based sauna brand, has introduced the Model CL4 — a compact, modular outdoor sauna designed to be assembled in under two hours by two people without specialized tools. The product directly addresses the installation friction that has historically been a barrier to outdoor sauna adoption.
Product Details
The CL4 is a barrel-style sauna with a 4-person capacity, constructed from thermally modified spruce panels that connect via a proprietary interlocking system. No screws, bolts, or adhesives are required for the primary structure. The heater — a 6kW electric unit included in the base price — plugs into a standard 240V outlet.
At $4,295 including the heater, the CL4 is positioned at the accessible end of the outdoor sauna market, targeting first-time buyers who might otherwise be deterred by the complexity and cost of a custom installation.
The number one reason people don't buy an outdoor sauna isn't price. It's the perceived hassle of installation. We eliminated that.
Market Position
SaunaLife's approach reflects a broader trend toward reducing friction in the outdoor sauna purchase journey. As the category has moved from niche to mainstream, manufacturers are competing not just on product quality but on ease of purchase, delivery, and installation.
